Why ARR Libya Matters
ARR Libya is not a symbolic tree-planting initiative. It is a fully engineered, investment-grade environmental project, designed from inception to deliver measurable, long-term impact in a complex operating environment.
The project aims to:
- Restore degraded land and combat desertification
- Enhance biodiversity and ecosystem resilience
- Support ESG, SDG, and emerging TNFD-aligned reporting
- Create a credible, replicable model for nature-positive investment
What Has Been Achieved
Phase I of the project (Zone A) is almost completed and operational, with key achievements including:
- Restoration of approximately 80 hectares
- Planting of 80,000 trees and 200,000 soil-cover plants
- Installation of irrigation networks, water wells, and electrical infrastructure
- Deployment of site security, fire protection, and monitoring systems
- Establishment of long-term maintenance and operational capacity
This phase has transformed previously degraded land into a functioning green system.
Governance & Credibility
ARR Libya has been structured to international standards from day one, supported by:
- Philip Lee (international legal advisory)
- ALLCOT / Karbon-X (climate, ESG, and impact advisory)
- Local implementation partners and authorities
This governance framework ensures transparency, credibility, and long-term viability.
Looking Ahead
ARR Libya is entering its growth phase, with plans to:
- Expand restoration activities and green coverage
- Strengthen biodiversity and ecosystem monitoring
- Support ESG storytelling, reporting, and stakeholder engagement
- Position the project as a scalable reference for future initiatives
